Every year, more and more attention is being paid to the upkeep of our garden lawns. In spring, once the frosts have passed, you can start laying them out, but it’s worth bearing a few tips in mind before you begin.
One of the fundamental mistakes in lawn care is a topsoil layer of inadequate quality and depth. The ideal layer, measuring 10–15 cm, stores water and nutrients; therefore, the thinner it is, the faster it dries out and becomes depleted. More frequent watering and fertilisation are essential in this case, but they do not provide a perfect solution on their own; therefore, right from the start of designing your garden, you must ensure that at least this minimum amount of soil is used everywhere.
It is important to improve the soil’s nutrient content before sowing. Florimo Lawn and Grassland is ideal for this purpose; when spread over the soil and then worked in (20 l/m²), it can significantly aid plant growth.
